Infinite imagination
Let me say, an interesting book has an interesting soul. Oh my god, this book is so interesting and wonderful. It will be my favorite book. Today, I want to talk about my feelings and associations when I finish reading the three chapters.
First of all, I want to say. When I saw The title of The book, The Great Gatsby, yes, what I thought was, was The man named Gatsby so Great? Why is he great? Who is he? But I think Gatsby must be the main character. With my questions in mind, I began to read the first chapter. Interestingly, the book describes Gatsby from someone else’s point of view. Oh, it’s very new. It’s the first time I’ve read a novel from other people’s perspective. I feel like I’ve opened the door to a new world.

The book’s protagonist, Mr Gatsby, does not appear in the first two chapters! It made me so anxious that he didn’t show up yet. The only thing that appeared was his back description and the green light. The book’s protagonist, Mr Gatsby, does not appear in the first two chapters! I mean that is Gatsby appeared only once, or was alone by the water at night, reaching out to the green tower lamp opposite the water. This scene is very meaningful. It is very easy to picture this scene in my mind. Reach out to grasp, to get is generally their own inner desire, want things. Here, I think it may be Mr. Gatsby’s dream or belief. He wanted it very much. He seemed very persistent. He seemed to be a man with a story. Wow, I have a feeling that is I want to read more.
“I’m glad it’s a girl. And I hope she’ll be a fool—that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”’
When I read this sentence, I fell into thinking.
I like that. This sentence is very meaningful. Perhaps, as a girl, do not have any bad mood, do not produce any bad ideas, be a fool, do not know anything, know what happiness, cherish happiness, have a simple life. Maybe that’s what a girl should have. This is my understanding of this sentence. Maybe my understanding is different from yours, because the angle is different. However, this sentence represents the love and desire of all mothers for their daughter.

Next, I’m going to start shocking Mr. Gatsby’s party. This book describes the era of the 1920s in the United States, in which women’s clothes are already very delicate and beautiful. Art Deco is most commonly used in architecture and clothing. Fancy parties, luxury clothes, high-end places. It’s hard to imagine. The description of Gatsby’s house and the party has limited my imagination. If I had the chance, I’d really like to join Mr. Gatsby’s party and enjoy it.
Here is a video to enjoy the 1920s fashion.
You know, this fashion is still popular today.

At Mr. Gatsby’s party, there was endless wine, plenty of food, limousine service, bright lights, gorgeous fireworks, and so on. There’s nothing you can’t think of, nothing he can’t do. Gatsby gave the best service to the guests, showing how healthy and courteous he was. From this point of view of the luxury party, I can say that Gatsby is great. No one can have such a fancy party, no one can surpass Gatsby. It’s amazing and great.

“He smiled understandingly-much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced–or seemed to face–the whole eternal world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey.”
When I read this, Mr. Nick described Mr. Gatsby’s smile very funny. This let me fall into the association, this smile may be a kind of pride, a kind of kindness, a meaningful, a sign of the smile.
Because of a smile, it is very difficult to impress Nick.
We meet different people every day, see a lot of smiles, can make a person impressive smile, must be very iconic.
This special smile, in my life, I have never seen a smile that can be described in this way, if there is, I will certainly remember. I very much look forward to seeing such a smile in the future. A smile is a direct pass between people.
Of course, if you really want to know Mr. Gatsby’s smile, I found a video that explains some of the author’s understanding of the smile description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDJbEoKpB4A

Although I have just read this, I do not know what kind of man he is, but I already have a good impression of Mr. Gatsby. He is a persistent pursuit of dreams, very rich, young, handsome, gentleman, etiquette, and generosity.
This is really a very interesting book, meaningful, content, so that I have the motivation and interest to continue to read.
Also, the above are all from my personal imagination and event opinion. There are no searches or sources of information.

Question 1, if you read 1-3 chapters of this book, do you have any feelings or shock?
Question 2, Do you have anything to say about my first blog?
Thank you for your reading! : )

unlike you, I hate the book. I also believed that the point of view was interesting but I didn’t know that Gatsby was the oldest character until a friend told me since Gatsby is rarely mentioned during the first 40 pages. I think the characters are very boring and I’m always falling asleep while reading the book, counting how many pages I have left until I finish one chapter. You did very well in explaining the times and location of the story and It’s very interesting to understand how you perceive the story in your mind. I appreciate you sharing how you felt about the story and the videos and pictures you posted to allow us to understand the era, characters and plot of the story better.

Hi ! Your blog looks really nice, its very easy to scroll through and the pictures are quite captivating. To answer your first question, yes! There were MANY parts in which I felt feelings of shock, which just speaks volumes of how great of a writer Fitzgerald really is. In the first chapter, I was quite shocked at Tom’s blatant racism, which was borderline barbaric. Then there was the news that Tom was having an affair yet, paid no mind to hiding it, taking a phone call from his misstress in the middle of dinner. Lastly, Daisy’s relationship with her daughter was also a real shocker. She was very artificial and said something along the lines of “girls are only made to be foolish”. In the second chapter, it was Tom’s sudden and abusive behaviour with Myrtle, which I did not see coming, as well as the fact that the scene was described with a kind of blur. Lastly, in the third chapter, I found it shocking how Gatsby was almost never seen around the party, and was so quiet, Nick could not even tell that he was the host.
To answer your second question, I think you did an awesome job with your blog! I really enjoyed that you added the ebook as well as videos and pictures that engages the reader! Thank you for an awesome blog.

Hi Yoona, great job on the post! I loved the use of pictures and how all of the quotations that you used were directly connected with what you were saying. As for your first question, I did feel shock in the second chapter when Tom breaks Myrtle’s nose, I felt the book was moving slowly before that and that was one of the very first parts that made me want to keep reading. I also do agree with you when you described Gatsby’s party as very shocking, it really put the party scene of that time period into perspective for me with all of the lavish elements. I see what you mean about Gatsby seeming like a kind character and I’m interested to see how the story plays out, since he we only have seen him in the third chapter. Since mentioning the extravagant parties that took place in the 1920’s, do you think there are any aspects that are similar to today’s parties? Overall, good job and I enjoyed reading your first blog 🙂

Thank you very much for your comments. I read them carefully. Thank you again for answering my question. About what you said about the 1920s party compared to today’s party. I don’t think anyone can have such a luxurious party and environment at the party today. Now the party is more casual, the color is brighter, and the content adds more games. There’s no retro sense of gold or silver. The similarity may be that they all have music and food. 😄,maybe.
